Pick up passengers at your hotel. Our first point of visit is the beautiful town of Maras, in which place the houses still retain their colonial facades and have a beautiful Church.
Then we will go to the Moray Archaeological Park. It has a system of circular terraces or agricultural terraces used in the time of the Incas as an agricultural laboratory.
Finally, we will visit the Salineras “natural salt wells”, they are platforms formed by hundreds of white wells that are observed as if it were snow at a distance, in the colonial era it became the first salt producing center.
Located west of Cusco at 3300 meters above sea level, from there you can see the Urubamba mountain range. Its important occupation began when the noble inhabitants of the Incanato were stripped of their palaces in Cusco and had to leave to settle in other small towns such as Maras. It has a church made of adobes, typical of the small-town religious architecture.
It is about 7 km. southwest of Maras; It is the only archaeological center of its kind. It is a set of terraces that houses a variety of microclimates, from the first tier to the last. These terraces were used for agriculture with their respective irrigation channels. It is a prototype greenhouse or biological experimental station quite advanced for its time.
Located northwest of the town of Maras are constituted by about 3000 small wells. During the dry season they are filled or “irrigated” every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural spring located in the upper part of the wells, when the water evaporates the salt contained in it wells, then the salt is beaten and granulated
